We leave (my friend Gayle Levin, and myself) from San Francisco on Jan. 9, Sunday night at 20:00 hours. We'll fly to Los Angeles and then get on a BIG jet to fly to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. The flight is 20 hours and 40 minutes. I'm armed with books, tapes, water, snacks, ear plugs, my own down pillow, melatonin, jet lag medicine and high hopes. I know this is just a matter of the right attitude (and of course altitude, over which I have no control) and then we'll be there. We have reservations in a big fancy hotel in Malaysia, courtesy of Malaysian Airlines. I don't even know what the money in Malaysia looks like, but I'm sure we'll get that sorted out really soon. I'll try to find an email place as soon as possible and send an email to Lian, my daughter, (lianamber.com) who'll post it on the website. Until then, happy days. We're off on an adventure...By the way, we'll land on Tuesday, Jan. 11 after going over the international dateline, and fly on to Madras (Chennai) in India on Wednesday, Jan. 12. Madras is on the east coast of India, in Tamil Nadu, up there in the shocking pink part. |
